Mr H. S. Khaira
BA(Cantab.), BMBCh (Oxon), MD, FRCS
Mr Khaira has been a consultant surgeon in Birmingham since 1999 and is registered with the GMC and is a member of The Royal College of Surgeons of England and of The Vascular Surgical Society.
He studied medicine at Cambridge and Oxford Universities and then underwent surgical training in Birmingham as a General Surgeon with Vascular interest.
He was appointed at Good Hope Hospital as Consultant in 1999 and at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital in 2007.
He has extensive experience of treating patients with hernia problems and often sees patients with complex hernias referred by other surgeons. He has been involved in training consultant surgeons and trainee surgeons in various techniques to repair simple and complicated hernias. He is experienced in the 'key hole' repair of hernias.
As a former council member of The British Association of Day Surgery he is keen to promote surgery on a day case basis.
